Asahina Matcha powdered tea, 30g
Description
Matcha is a green tea that has a fairly significant place in the culture of Japan, where it has been known since the 13th century. The main feature that distinguishes it from other types of green tea is its powdery consistency obtained by carefully grinding the leaves. Thanks to this, matcha tea has all the healthy, nutritional ingredients contained in the leaf, especially those insoluble in water, such as vitamin A, which we usually get rid of together with the dried fruit by taking it out after brewing any other tea.
The matcha harvested for this product comes from the Asahina area of Shizuoka Prefecture, famous for the production of high-quality green tea, and does not contain any admixtures.
Matcha is a key element of the sadō tea ceremony, during which it is prepared with amazing, ritual precision, but it will not be a problem to prepare it at home:
- Pour matcha into the bowl by sifting it through a strainer.
- When preparing thinner (dry) tea, the proportions will be 2g per 60ml of water, and stronger (koicha) tea 4g per 80ml of water.
- As with all other green teas, remember that the water temperature should be around 80 ℃.
4At the end, just froth the tea using a bamboo brush (chasen), in the case of koicha, the tea should be stirred slowly, and the usucha should be beaten with quick movements. We do this for about 15 seconds.
