Kewpie japanese mayonnaise in jar packaging (Moomin edition), 250g
Description
Number 1 Japanese mayonnaise!
Kewpie has been delighting mayonnaise lovers around the world since 1925 with its top product - Kewpie Mayo. The characteristically soft, handy plastic bottle with a baby (Kewpie logo), finished with a red cap, has already become an iconic visual, which for many is synonymous with the term "Japanese mayonnaise".
This time, the famous Kewpie mayonnaise was packaged in a glass jar, with a decorative label with the characters of the "Moomins" series - a work published in 1945 by the Finnish writer and artist Tove Jansso. This is a unique and unusual edition of Kewpie Mayo that first appeared in Japanese stores in 2007 and has not been released again until now!
Japanese mayonnaise is distinguished primarily by its exceptionally creamy, thick texture, delicate sweetness, deep umami and unique, eggy taste. Unlike Western mayonnaise, which is made with whole eggs, Kewpie Mayo uses only egg yolks, which is what gives it that distinct, rich flavor. In addition to the usual distilled vinegar and sugar, Kepwie mayonnaise contains apple cider vinegar, which adds to it a slightly sweet note.
Japanese people love to add mayonnaise to many dishes, although it's most often used with fried dishes such as okonomiyaki, takoyaki, or yakisoba. It also works great as a dip for fries, vegetables or karaage chicken, or as an addition to salads, sandwiches and pasta. Apparently once you try it, no other mayonnaise will taste as good!
