Description
Chikara udon, a specialty of the Kansai region and a strengthening, rich-tasting dish of thick, wheat udon noodles served in a warming dashi broth. The name chikara (literally, strength) refers to the dry rice cake mochi that is the soup's main ingredient. Mochi is still eaten today during various holidays as it is considered a source of strength and longevity.
Shiroi Chikara Mochi Udon from Maruchan is a simple and expressway to prepare the original chikara mochi dish. Inside the package you will find wheat noodles, a filling piece of mochi rice cake, sea lettuce flavored tempura scraps and slices of kamaboko fish paste. Inside you'll also find a sachet of seafood and kombu seaweed-based soup, seasoned with soy sauce, among other things. Now all you have to do is pour hot water over it, wait just 5 minutes, and you're done!
