How to use:

To prepare classic dashi:

  1. Place a piece of kombu in cold water (about 10g per 1 liter of water)

  2. Let it soak for 30–60 minutes, or overnight in the fridge

  3. Slowly heat the water, but do not let it boil

  4. Remove the kombu just before it reaches boiling point – and it’s ready!

You can also use kombu in simmered dishes, marinades, or slice it thinly and add to salads.
