Marumiya's Mazekomi ume katsuo furikake is a seasoning blend that combines sesame seeds, wakame seaweed, dried ume plum, and dried bonito flakes. Both the seaweed and bonito flakes are seasoned with soy sauce and a hint of sugar, enhancing the depth and richness of the seasoning.

Furikake is a traditional Japanese rice seasoning, commonly used by the Japanese as a way to enhance and transform plain white rice into a dish full of umami flavor.

Mazekomi furikake is a slightly different form of furikake, designed not for sprinkling but for mixing the seasoning with freshly cooked rice. The ingredients of such furikake are slightly firmer, but once added to the rice and evenly distributed, they become more delicate, enriching the flavor of the rice even further. Mazekomi furikake is particularly appealing for those who enjoy adding variety to their onigiri or inarizushi.
